Steven M. Walker, MBA, MHA joined Biologics Consulting as the Chief Business Officer (CBO) in 2015. Steven comes to Biologics Consulting with over 15 years of biopharmaceutical business and research experience, with a focus in immunology, respiratory, dermatology, vaccine, cardiovascular disease and neuroscience. Prior to joining Biologics Consulting, he was the Director of Respiratory, Inflammation and Autoimmune - New Product Planning (NPP) at MedImmune, Specialty Care Division of AstraZeneca. The New Product Planning group is responsible for assessing and developing strategic plans to maximize the clinical and commercial value for pre-approved biopharmaceutical assets within the United States. Steven had oversight of product strategy development, commercial infrastructure design, life cycle management and P&L financial designs for multiple late stage biologic and small molecules. Steven played a leading role in the strategic commercial development of clinical biologics targeting Asthma, COPD, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and IPF.
Prior to his role as Director of NPP, he served as Director of Cross Franchise Initiatives for the Infectious Disease division (Synagis® - Palivizumab and FluMist® - LAIV) and Marketing Director of FluMist® - Influenza vaccine. Steven also served multiple roles of increasing responsibility at Genentech, such as Senior Marketer and Regional Sales Director, with responsibility for products such as Xolair® - Omalizumab and Raptiva® - Efalizumab. He's also worked at Schering-Plough Corporation, before joining Genentech and served in roles and functions of progressing responsibility ranging from Corporate Strategy, Claritin® - Loratadine Marketing, Sales and Sales Management with Schering-Plough, Corporation.
Before entering into the biopharmaceutical industry, Steven spent time working in the life-sciences internationally in Barbados at the Virgin Island Center of Chronic Disease Research focused on diabetes research, as well as working at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) - department of Orthopedic Surgery, as a research surgical intern.
He holds a BS in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh, MBA from Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at University of Pittsburgh, and a MHA from the Graduate School of Public Health at University of Pittsburgh.
